Located along the south Texas coast, Padre Island National Seashore protects the longest undeveloped stretch of barrier island in the world. Here, you can enjoy 70 miles of sandy beaches.

Girlscouts at the National Seashore

Come celebrate National Park Week at Padre Island National Seashore!

From April 17th through April 25th, you and your friends and family can visit Padre Island National Seashore for FREE (camping and day-use fees not included). To celebrate National Park Week, the National Seashore is participating in a number of programs, including Junior Ranger Day, Earth Day, and an Adopt-a-Beach clean-up. Climate

During the summer, daytime temperatures on the island are usually in the mid-90s (Fahrenheit), with humid conditions. During the winter, highs are usually between 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit, but can occasionally drop into the upper 30s. The wintertime climate is typically dry, though most of the year's rainfall occurs in the winter. Average windspeed throughout the year ranges from 5 to 25 miles per hour.
